Member Profile ~ Linda Short

Linda Short believes in the power of buying locally. She likes the fact that RiverHOURS help to support local producers. Linda and her husband Mark England have both agreed to accept part of their salary at La Clinica in RiverHOURS so that people can use RiverHOURS for health and dental care at the clinic.
Linda has used RiverHOURS to buy jewelry, food at Jean’s restaurant, arborist services, worm composting education, groceries at Mother’s and yard work. She reports that “the quality of all of the products and services have been outstanding. The arborist work that Anthony Villagomez did for us was absolutely amazing.” She added that she appreciates the flexibility in the RiverHOURS system to negotiate her transactions with friends and local merchants.
Mark has enjoyed the services they have been able to find through the RiverHOURS network. He thinks that RiverHOURS will be a good way for some clients at La Clinica to supplement their federal money in order to better afford health care locally.
Linda and Mark appear in the photo with Tenito Garcia, a student at Hood River Middle School. Tenito earns money doing garden work for Linda and Mark. He met them through the RiverHOURS network.
