Member Profile ~ Casey Roeder
Skamania County Chamber of Commerce

Winter 2009

Casey Roeder (pictured on right with
Administrative Manager Angie Waiss) was raised in Scappoose, Oregon, and has lived in the Gorge since 1985 when her husband began working at Bonneville Dam. For the past 15 years, she has worked to promote tourism and local businesses
in the area.

She moved up from a reservationist to National Sales Manager at Skamania Lodge, then worked in Cascade Locks for five years as Director of Sales, Marketing and Guest Services for the Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler. When operation of the sternwheeler was turned over to a private company in 2006, Casey was named Executive Director of the Skamania County Chamber of Commerce.

The Skamania County Chamber of Commerce wants to incorporate RiverHOURS into their efforts to encourage local spending in the Gorge. They have already pinpointed a number of areas where they will be able to spend the RiverHOURS they receive: catering, graphic design, entertainment and contracting are just a few places the chamber will be able to keep RiverHOURS circulating.

Since the purpose of the Chamber of Commerce is to enhance the local economy, partnering with the GLCC makes perfect sense. Each organization stands to gain new members and strengthen their mission. The chamber looks forward to building a strong relationship with the GLCC and working together to foster healthy economic development through the support of local businesses.
